Reimbursement Information

How is Tamoxitest paid for?

Most insurers including Medicare are now consistently covering Tamoxitest. Genelex submits claims on behalf of the patient and almost all of them have been reimbursed at an acceptable rate. We strive to make the process as easy as possible for you and work with the insurance company to obtain coverage for the patient.

What happens when the insurance company denies the claims?

Genelex will appeal the claims submitted on behalf of the patient and work consistently with the insurance company to obtain the maximum benefit for the patient. Patients will however be responsible for any co-payments and deductibles that might be applicable depending on the insurance policy.

What role does the physician play in the insurance reimbursement process?

Some insurance companies may call the physician to confirm the necessity for the test. In such cases, the physician may be required to submit a letter of Medical Necessity which includes the ICD-9 codes for the medical diagnosis.

The CPT codes used to bill insurance for Tamoxitest are:
CYP2D6 Mutation DNA Analysis
1 X 83891, 2 X 83892, 1 X 83900, 14 X 83914, 1 X 83909, 1 X 83912, 1 X 83912-26

What is the privacy policy?

Genelex respects your privacy and does not share your information with any third party without your written consent. Some patients prefer to order testing through Genelex under the discounted cash payment option in order to keep their genetic test results private and off their medical record. All test results are held in strict confidence and stored in monitored, secure facilities under the supervision of trained personnel.
